What you’ll do
- Your tour will begin with pick up directly from your hotel in downtown Providence. Then, we’ll take you on a narrated drive through the city while passing by Burnside Park, along the way to our first stop at the Rhode Island State House. The State House has been described as “one of the grandest statehouses in the U.S. for the country’s smallest state.”
- After your statehouse visit, we will continue on with a fact-filled, narrated drive through the city while passing by multiple points of interest including Prospect Terrace Park, the Old State House, and Brown University.
- Next, we will take a visit to the John Brown House Museum where you will learn about the Brown family who was one of the most wealthy and influential families in the colonies and later in the United States. You will learn about how they lived at the turn of the 18th century, the pressing issues of the time, and the role that Rhode Island played in the history of the nation.
- Your final stop on the tour is a 50-minute relaxing boat cruise with the Providence River Boat Co. Your ride will take you through the Providence River while highlighting significant historical, nautical, and architectural spots along the way.
- At the end of your tour, your guide will bring you back to your hotel in downtown Providence.
