Getting to Niagara Falls From Toronto:


There are several options for those who wish to travel to Niagara Falls from Toronto. We offer a tour of Niagara Falls, Ontario from Toronto that includes round-trip transportation.

If you have a car, you can take the ON-403 to the QEW. Once on the QEW, you will stay on this highway until you reach the ON-420 (follow signs for Niagara Falls, USA). You will exit on your right at Stanley Ave. and arrive in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

If you do not have a car, you can travel to Niagara Falls by train or bus. GO Transit operates buses and trains to the area and Via Rail provides train service to the area. Megabus also provides transportation between Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Getting to Niagara Falls, Canada From the USA:


Rainbow Bridge - Niagara Falls

*The Canada-US Border has been closed to non-essential travel since March 21st, 2020. It is currently scheduled to remain closed until at least September 21st, 2020.

If traveling to Niagara Falls, Canada from the USA there are two border crossings we would recommend, depending on where you’re traveling from. If you’re staying in Niagara Falls, NY the easiest location to cross the border is at the Rainbow Bridge which connects Niagara Falls, USA with Niagara Falls, Canada.

Visitors can cross either as pedestrians or by car. If crossing by car, visitors should expect to pay $5.25 CAD or $4 USD upon entry to Canada. There is no fee for crossing the Rainbow Bridge by foot if crossing from the USA into Canada but a $1 fee will apply (either currency) when crossing from Canada back into the USA as a pedestrian.

A passport is required and depending on your citizenship status, additional documentation may be required. Upon crossing the border here, visitors will immediately arrive in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Peace Bridge - Buffalo/Fort Erie

For those not staying directly in Niagara Falls, USA an alternate border crossing exists between Buffalo, NY and Fort Erie, Ontario. Fort Erie is located about 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls. This border crossing is known as the Peace Bridge.

Visitors can cross either as pedestrians or by car. There is no fee when crossing this border as a pedestrian. If you are crossing by car into Canada from the USA there is a fee of $3.75 USD or $5.25 CAD.

Upon arriving in Fort Erie, you will want to take the QEW toward Toronto. Continue until you see the signs for ON-420. Exit here and follow the signs toward Niagara Falls, USA. You will then turn right onto Stanley Road and arrive in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Public Transportation in Niagara Falls:


Niagara Falls, Ontario has multiple public transportation systems available for use.

The WEGO system provides transportation between accommodations in Niagara Falls and the tourist attractions/parks. There are several “lines” for the WEGO. The “Red” and “Blue” lines service the tourist district. The “Green” lines service the Niagara Parks and the “Orange” line runs between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Alternatively, for those looking for private transportation between Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls, Ontario, we provide a private shuttle.

There is also a municipal transportation system that provides transportation within the city of Niagara Falls.

Lastly, there’s a Niagara Region Transit System that provides transportation between Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Welland, Port Colborne and Fort Erie.

Climate:

Niagara Falls features 4 distinct seasons. Summers are typically hot with temperatures reaching a daily average of about 27℃ (about 80℉) between July and August. The area also enjoys a nice breeze.
